Finding food in Venice, the lucky way.

The smile I get when a menu is set in front of me... priceless! Lol but the real joy is how we got so lucky finding all of these great spots for food.

Upon exploring and navigating Venice with no map in hand, Cris and I were greeted by a restaurant and they asked us to come in to try their specialties for lunch.  To my surprise, this was not an Italian restaurant, it was African! We walked in and instantly fell in love with this place :) The staff members were so kind, they gave us a tour of the restaurant before we sat down for snacks.  We LOVED it!  The food was so delicious, I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Venice.  I actually created a new Yelp page for them,  www.yelp.com/biz/africa-xperience-venezia , if you want more information.

Cris and I were stuffed... but did that stop us from finding more amazing food, nope!  As we continued our mapless adventure we came across a Gelato spot near the water that we just had to try. (They even had vegan options!)

And then just like that... it was dinner time :) We took the train back into the main island that evening and we ate at a restaurant called LA ZUCA.  Hands down one of the best restaurants on our #ItalyLoveTour

Scenic Traveler tips for La Zuca:

  • Make Reservations, they were fully booked the first night we found this place.
  • Any seat is a good seat. The restaurant is small but quaint, so don't be too picky.
  • I ordered the Pesto pasta, and it was the BEST pesto pasta I've ever had!
  • Get the full bottle of wine with your meal, you won't regret it ;)
  • After your dinner, ask for the "Sambuca con fly". It's a Sambuca shot with coffee beans on top! (and yes, chew the beans)
