Scotland under $100

Yes you heard correctly, I went to Scotland for under $100!

See how I did it below :)

I traveled from Ireland to Scotland on RyanAir, and only paid 28.55 euros for my ticket! That's around $32 usd!  I also could have saved around $10 and not picked my own seat, but I love the window seat what can I say :)  I arrived in Scotland and took the Airbus to the city for approximately $7 usd.  This is a much better option as opposed to a Taxi or Uber when you're traveling solo. You save money and it's also safer because there are other people around.

Since I was traveling solo, it was a no-brainer that my accommodations would be a Hostel.  It's cheap, and convenient. I chose the Castle Rock Hostel for my 3 night stay (price $51). This hostel was located at the base of the Edinburgh Castle! Perfect location for sightseeing and walking around the tourist areas. They even have beer pong competitions every Saturday and the champions get their picture on the wall Lol! Another great reason to stay at a Hostel when traveling solo is that you get to meet people from all over the world that love travelling too!

Plane Ticket = $32

RT bus to lodging = $7

Hostel for 3 nights = $51

Total for trip to Scotland = $90 usd

There are many ways to save on sightseeing and dining as well. For a few of my meals I bought a few items at the local grocery store and cooked at the kitchen inside the Hostel. Then I also found this AMAZING place called The Baked Potato Shop!  I enjoyed the first one so much, I went back another day for round 2!  When I wanted to step out for a nice handcrafted cocktail, I went to Devil's Advocate. Wonderful drinks and atmosphere, but definitely make reservations if you plan to stay for dinner.

Sightseeing in Scotland was a breeze.  I visited the Scottish National Gallery, the Royal Mile, and even hiked up to Arthur's Seat..... all for FREE!  There are also tons of free walking tours that you can go on (don't forget to tip!)  Edinburgh, you stole my heart & belly!
