Hiking at Sweetwater Creek
Want something free to do around atlanta?
Take a hike at Sweetwater Creek! My friend Jennifer invited me out one Sunday and I'm so happy she did! The State Park is about 20-30 minutes West of Atlanta. The Visitor Center has souvenirs, snacks, water, and even a small museum to see. We picked one of the small trails due to time, but we still cleansed our crystals/stones in the running creek and had so much fun exploring. View the little video below of our fun outdoor adventure day.
Travel tips:
- Bring plenty of water (re-usable bottle? there is a refill station at the Visitor Center)
- Wear comfortable shoes (I prefer my hiking shoes but since we picked a small trail and it was hot, I opted for sneakers)
- Pack a light snack (walking trails can be tiring even if you choose the easy route, be prepared)
- Go when they open to avoid any crowds (but it's not that packed even if you go during peak hours)
- Remember to PICK UP your trash. Let's keep our parks clean ;)
